I gained my human qualification through the European College of Bowen Studies, equine qualification through the European College of Equine Bowen Therapies and canine qualification through the European Guild of Canine Bowen Technique.
After a serious car accident in 1996 and two lower back surgeries, I was introduced to the Bowen Technique through my GP. Having been unable to ride horses since the accident and having tried a number of other therapies (Chiropracter, Physio, Acupuncture, Massage, Tens) it was a last ditch hope that this therapy would help, it did!!. Within three months of having my first treatment I sat on a horse again after a 30month break.
I have owned and competed horses for over thirty years in affiliated eventing, showjumping, endurance riding and most riding club activities, during this time I have gained experience through handling and riding difficult horses, retraining ex-racehorses and gaining knowledge through my father, a retired registered farrier, with remedial shoeing.
I have been around and owned dogs my whole life, with a passion for miniature Jack Russells. I helped my mother to breed and show miniature long-haired dachshounds whilst at the same time owning irish wolfhounds, quite an odd mix when out exercising together!!
