Equine Bowen

Horse pic 2max2horse picEquine Bowen Therapy is a gentle hands-on muscle manipulation treatment where the thumbs and fingers are used on precise points of the horse making gentle moves which stimulate fascia, muscles and other soft tissue to allow the body to realign itself. There is no force used and no manipulation or adjustment of the skeletal structure, therefore it is ideal to use on any age of animal, after injury or surgery or just as an MOT treatment for peace of mind.

Clients in Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, Driving and Endurance have commented on the difference it has made to their horses way of going and therefore their well being and longevity of competitive career.

A treatment takes around 30-40 minutes (upto an hour for the first treatment due to assessments of the horse and client details being recorded). If treatment is being taken due to an injury etc then ideally 2-3 treatments, a week between each one, are required to obtain an optimum outcome, however each animal is individual and the treatments are organised according to the findings from the initial treatment.  A ‘top-up’ treatment programme can be designed for the individual if a long lasting balanced body is required or if the problem is chronic or recurrent, however these a purely individual and if required by the owner.

Equine Bowen Therapists are fully qualified to treat Humans. This is most important to ensure practitioners have a complete understanding of the Bowen Technique and also to ensure the rider is balanced and not affecting the horse!!

Please Note: The Bowen Technique, Equine & Canine Bowen Therapy are not intended as a substitute for medical or veterinary advice or treatment. If in doubt, please consult your Doctor or Veterinary Surgeon prior to treatment.
