Canine Bowen

To achieve maximum effect from the Bowen Technique your dog needs to feel happy and relaxed in its surroundings. The treatment is normally carried out in a quiet area at a time of day when the dog isn't expecting to be walked, fed etc. Each session will usually take around 30 minutes if they are comfortable with the treatment. For animals, treatment isn't forced on them - indeed an important part of Canine Bowen is that the animal has the final say about what it needs. Animals instinctively know what they require from a treatment to promote and maintain balance in all systems of their bodies to achieve optimum health.

The experience of a treatment is gentle, subtle and very relaxing, which makes Bowen so unique. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue (bones) and no insertion of needles. Due to this it is suitable for ANY age of animal.

Bowen can prove very useful for:

  • Back Problems
  • Allergies / Skin Conditions
  • Hip / Elbow Dysplasia
  • Lameness & Gait Problems
  • Muscle Atrophy / Uneven Development
  • Arthritis
  • Muscle Sprain / Strain
  • Circulation & Lymphatic Problems
  • Aggression / Behavioural Problems

This list is not exhaustive!!

Always consult your veterinary surgeon before arranging ANY type of treatment for your animal. A veterinary referral form is available from your therapist, which your own vet should fill in prior to treatment.
